Google Hiring AI/ML Engineer – (Finance Data & Analytics)

Google is hiring an Applied Artificial Intelligence/Machine learning Engineer to work with its Finance Data and Analytics team. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced AI and machine learning professionals who want to work on Generative AI, large language models, agentic systems, and production-scale machine learning solutions.

The role sits at the intersection of technology, data, and business transformation. Instead of focusing only on building individual ML models, the selected engineer will help design complete AI-powered systems that can improve complex finance processes

About the Role

As an Applied Artificial Intelligence/Machine learning Engineer, you will help transform traditional finance workflows into more automated and AI-driven systems. You’ll work with machine learning models, LLMs and agentic workflows while keeping reliability, accuracy and auditability in mind.

Because the solutions will be used in a finance environment, the ability to build systems that can be monitored, evaluated and trusted is particularly important.

Key Responsibilities

The role involves designing and developing multi-agent AI workflows using machine learning tools and Google’s Gemini-based technologies.

Some of the major responsibilities include:

  • Designing reliable AI and ML architectures for complex finance problems.
  • Building and scaling AI agents from prototypes into production systems.
  • Developing highly available model endpoints with appropriate error handling, retries and fallback mechanisms.
  • Creating evaluation frameworks and guardrails to reduce hallucinations, logical errors and bias.
  • Designing systems with human oversight for important finance-related decisions.
  • Working closely with engineers, product managers and finance stakeholders.
  • Translating business requirements into practical technical solutions.
  • Monitoring model performance, reliability and system behavior after deployment.

Required Qualifications

Candidates should have a Master’s degree in a quantitative field, such as Statistics, Engineering or Sciences, or equivalent practical experience.

The role also requires around 3 years of relevant experience in areas such as analytics, programming, database querying or statistical analysis. Experience with languages such as Python, R or SQL is particularly relevant.

Skills That Can Give You an Advantage

Google’s preferred qualifications include experience with several modern AI technologies.

Candidates with experience in Generative Artificial Intelligence, Large Language Models, agentic Artificial Intelligence systems and classical machine learning may find this role especially relevant.

Experience with:

  • Machine learning model development and deployment
  • Time-series forecasting and tree-based models
  • LLM and Generative AI technologies
  • Production-ready AI agents
  • AI observability and monitoring
  • Model performance and drift monitoring
  • Full-stack Machine Learning solutions
  • Financial or highly regulated environments

can be valuable for this position.

Strong communication skills are also important because the role involves explaining complex technical concepts and AI system behavior to business and finance stakeholders.

Why This Opportunity Is Interesting

One of the interesting aspects of this position is its focus on taking AI beyond experimentation. The engineer will be expected to help move solutions from testing environments into reliable production systems.

For professionals interested in the future of Artificial Intelligence agents, Generative Artificial Intelligence and enterprise machine learning, this could be a strong opportunity to work on practical, large-scale problems
