About the Role
The Lead Data Scientist will be responsible for driving data-driven initiatives across different areas of the organization. The position involves working closely with teams such as Data Engineering, Product, Business, and Engineering.
The successful candidate will work on areas including customer analytics, personalization, recommendation systems, churn prediction, forecasting, segmentation, and anomaly detection.
This is more than a role focused on building models. The position also requires the ability to understand business problems, convert them into analytical solutions, and communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
What Will You Work On?
As a Lead Data Scientist, your responsibilities can include designing and deploying machine learning and statistical models for different business use cases.
You may work with large structured and unstructured datasets, develop predictive models, improve feature engineering processes, and contribute to scalable machine learning workflows.
The role also includes working with Customer 360 data to develop deeper customer intelligence and supporting experimentation and A/B testing initiatives.
Another important part of the position is building reusable machine learning components and monitoring solutions while following strong ML development practices.
Since this is a lead-level role, mentoring junior data scientists and helping establish good practices within the team will also be part of the responsibility.
Skills and Experience Required
Candidates should have strong practical knowledge of Machine Learning, Statistical Modelling, Predictive Analytics, Deep Learning, and Feature Engineering.
Experience with areas such as Natural Language Processing (NLP), time-series forecasting, recommendation systems, and customer analytics can be particularly relevant for this position.
From a technical perspective, proficiency in Python and SQL is important. Experience with technologies and frameworks such as Apache Spark, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, XGBoost, Pandas, and NumPy is also expected.
The role also involves exposure to big-data technologies and scalable data environments. Knowledge of technologies such as Kafka, Flink, ETL/ELT frameworks, data lakes or lakehouse architectures, and scalable ML workflows can be valuable.
Candidates should also understand model evaluation, experimentation, hypothesis testing, and data preprocessing.
