About the PhonePe Software Reliability Engineer Tools Role
The Software Reliability Engineer Tools team works on internal infrastructure and engineering solutions that help technology teams operate systems reliably at scale.
As a Software Engineer in this role, you’ll be involved in the complete lifecycle of solutions—from understanding requirements and designing the architecture to deployment, monitoring and ongoing improvements.
The position also involves identifying infrastructure-wide problems and creating solutions that can be reused across the organization.
What Will You Do?
The selected candidate will be responsible for several areas of software and infrastructure engineering, including:
- Understanding requirements and working with stakeholders to design suitable solutions.
- Developing and maintaining internal cloud infrastructure components.
- Working on infrastructure provisioning, patching, migration and retirement.
- Taking ownership of solutions from development through deployment and monitoring.
- Identifying recurring infrastructure problems and designing scalable solutions.
- Improving compliance across engineering solutions.
- Applying DevOps principles to software and infrastructure development.
- Contributing to systems that improve reliability and operational efficiency.
Skills PhonePe Is Looking For
Candidates should have 4+ years of software development experience and a strong understanding of systems and infrastructure.
Some of the important skills for this position include:
Programming:
Experience with at least two of the following is expected:
- Go
- Rust
- Python
Other technical skills:
- Operating systems and systems programming concepts
- Networking fundamentals
- Data structures and algorithms
- Open-source technologies
- Cloud technologies
- DevOps practices
Knowledge of technologies such as Mesos, KVM/QEMU, Node.js or React can be an additional advantage
